Do you believe in the Alkalize Or Die Theory? I haven't read the book but have done some research online and certainly see some merits. Yet every nutritionist and Western medical doctor I have spoken with has called it BS. What both camps do agree upon is the power of lemons, which happen to be alkalizing. On this topic, I thought this video from Dr Oz was worth sharing. So maybe the new adage should be, a lemon a day keeps the doctor away.
Here is a sparkling lemonade recipe that will make consuming a lemon a day a snap.
12 oz sparkling mineral water
juice from 1 medium size lemon {go for Meyer lemons when in season}
Stevia, to taste {start with 1/2 t}
a splash of pomegranate juice {optional}
In a glass, mix Stevia and lemon juice. slowly add in sparkling water. Top with a splash of pomegranate juice for an anti-oxidant boost.
